A good friend of mine was celebrating a big birthday. And having newly moved into out new home (which is my actual dream home) I invited her round for a birthday afternoon tea, and to give her the tour
Just something informal and cute, so I cute show her she is appreciated and special.
It was the perfect opportunity to break out the Wedgwood (My set is thecuckoo collection) and eat some cake.
And the pink lemonade was perfect for a hot afternoon in Spain
I Purchased some petite fours and macrons from my local patisseried'alicia. They are the cutest. And I served tea from Mariage freres, which went down a treat!
We spent the afternoon catching up and enjoying my new home.
Whats not to love about cake and good company !
!When we are home for the weekend one of our favorite things to do is have lunch at the lovely Finca Cortesin. Its the most beautiful Andalusian style hotel not far from where we live, with an incredible beach club. It also has the loveliest restaurants to choose from... this weekend we were craving beach views, so the beach club it was
Its the perfect place to enjoy a sunny Saturday lunch!
I thought id wear my new summer dress for Zara, it so easy to wear in this kind of heat
We started our lunch with some traditional Jamón Ibérico de Bellota y pan con tomate (I'm practicing my Spanish) Iberian ham with tomato bread. And some Iberian ham croquettes. Delicious!
And as I am not always the biggest drinker I asked the waiter to whip me up a refreshing mocktail.
For my main course I had the Monkfish with fried garlic which was so fresh and tasty.
In case you haven't noticed, I have a bit if a thing for sweet stuff...It was cheat day after all, and we shared this delicious "Chocolate as the first time" raspberry sorbet and red fruit. I could not resist a name like that
One evening during our trip to Chiang Mai, My husband told me to put on my best dress and be ready at 7pm... We were dining somewhere special!
We strolled through the rice fields at dusk until we arrived at a candle lit walk way to the private reserve rice barn
Lanterns and rose petals guided the way...
I cant tell you how overwhelmed I was by such a lovely surprise... and how utterly beautiful it all was!
He had worked with the chef to plan the perfect dinner in the middle of the rice fields, selecting my favorite Thai foods with wine paring
And he had arranged for a bouquet of my favorite flowers...the most romantic thing ever!
We sat with a glass of champagne, looking out over the rice fields as the night drew and the view became a sea of flickering candlelight. I could have died it was so beautiful.
Our private waiter sonny, was the loveliest. We listened to a private mandolin player, which was truly magical
Every course was served so creatively...almost to pretty to eat
And you know I'm all about that mango sticky rice
Sonny blessed us with a tradition Thai floating candle ceremony to bless our Marriage. We lit the candle and let it float away on the lake. Such a beautiful moment
When we were ready to leave , they had a buggy come to take us back... probably the best idea of all the wine paring
And when I saw they had decorated the whole cart with fresh orchids and balloons I was blown away... cutest thing ever. In fact, this experience was up there with our engagement, wedding and honeymoon
And this was before I saw what he had arranged for the room. OMG
There were flowers, rose petals and fresh orchids EVERYWHERE
A bottle of their finest Champagne
And to my utter amazement they had manage to print and frame a copy of a photo they had taken of us... again with the details!
Totally up there in the amazing moments of life
What have been your amazing moments of life? I’d love to know!
