Go on a bike tour
The region of Puglia is known for it’s amazing landscapes and towns full of cobbled streets and white buildings. It’s a marvellous place to visit, and one of the best things you can do is book onto a bike tour. You can easily book things like AQTO cycling tours to get you in a group that tours the region. This will take you to all the must-see places and spots, delivering the best views from around the area. It’s a fantastic way to see all the natural beauty - while also giving you a chance to visit some of the small towns in the region.

Visit Polignano a MareKnown as perhaps the most Instagrammable place in Italy, Polignano a Mare is a coastal town with beautiful rocky cliffs with old houses built into them. These cliffs open up onto a gorgeous beach with cyan waters that tempt you into diving in. The town itself is full of quaint little white-washed buildings and beautiful cobbled streets. It’s like something out of a postcard, but this is definitely the best place to go if you want to enjoy the beach in Puglia. You can go for a day, or stay for a few more to explore the heritage and culture of this little town.

Take a trip to Gargano National ParkPuglia is home to loads of natural wonders, but the Gargano National Park is the tip of the iceberg. It is one of the most colourful and naturally diverse national parks you will find. There are so many unique and bright flowers and plants, along with some stunning white cliffs and caves. If you fancy an active holiday with lots of walking, you need to add this park to your bucket list.

Explore the caves in MateraMatera is another lovely city in Puglia that’s well worth your time. It’s famous for its network of cave dwellings, which have been inhabited since the Paleolithic era. You can book tours of these caves to walk around them all and see some truly unique structures. Even better, loads of the hotels and B&Bs here are built into caves. So, you can have a hotel room that looks like a cave, only with all the modern comforts.

Of course, you can enjoy typical Italian experiences throughout your time in Puglia. We’re talking amazing weather, exceptional food and a majestic atmosphere. If you want an Italian holiday that’s a little different from the norm, this is the region to visit.
