The master of surprise as I like to call him aka my husband, woke me up one morning at 5 am and quickly before I fell back to sleep, told me that he had booked us a sunrise breakfast on a private island. I will admit a small part of me wanted to kill him for waking me up so early on vacation (I am so not a morning person) Obviously, sense prevailed and the excitement of our morning took over Those pink and purple tones were worth the lack of sleep. Just incredible Now unfortunately his best laid plans were sabotaged by the pesky weather, as it meant that the tide didn't go out far enough for us to have breakfast on the island. So we had a romantic breakfast on the long tail boat instead, and for me it was just as cute. Bobbing around on the ocean, with the most amazing view and a cup of coffee was out of this world and so tranquil Once breakfast was over, and the tide was out we set sail for my favorite of the islands Koh Hong. And once again we had the entire Island to ourselves Here's a view of the national park (the fairy Islands) from the six senses resort The resort really is spectacular at night! The Lilly ponds in between the decks were so magical. We became quite partial to per dinner aperitif at the main house When we could drag ourselves away from the sanctuary of our Villa, our favourite restaurant was the dining room . The food really was to die for. Everything we ate was amazing. I had the burrata to start, followed by pasta and followed it with a pineapple tart tatin, all of which were so delicious My husband highly recommended his poached chicken breast After dinner we headed down to the beach for what I think is the cutest thing ever... movies under the stars! What an amazing idea!? Made even better by the movie being "The man with the golden gun ". Perfect! You get to relax on a sun lounger under the stars and listen to the palms rustling in the breeze, with a blockbuster movie illuminating the large cinema screen... along with homemade popcorn. And just to top the evening off we discovered this magical twinkle light roof... too cute! To read more about our stay at the six senses resort at Koh Yao Noi click here and here

Having become a little obsessed with the magical little islands that are the renowned Phang Nga Bay national park, we decided to have the resort arrange a long tale boat excursion and a guide to discover them close up Again, as the weather had turned early we didn't get the usual sunshine and perfect sky's... but instead experienced some very atmospheric and beautiful weather Our guide was amazing, showing us all kinds of sea life. Starfish are just so beautiful One of the perks of stormy weather is that you get the islands to yourself! Koh Hong, in particular, was incredible. The sand was perfect and white and we had the entire island to ourselves Towards the end of the excursion the weather really came in and it was incredible. I was so glad we got to see the islands in such beautiful atmospheric lighting... it was very romantic and cosy It made for the most visually stunning journey back to the island... how lucky were we?
There is no better way to unwind on vacation than with a massage as you may have guessed from my Spa days around the world page! If I was a rich woman, id play someone to massage me all day. In fact I spend most of my massages, wishing for the time to slow down ha ha The spa at the six senses is stunning. Its completely immersed in nature on a tropical hillside. Yes, I did buy my dress to theme in with the tropical vegetation ha ha. Anyhow, who doesn't love a palm print? To start our spa experience we were served some delicious and refreshing ginger tea and some dried mango and ginger to snack on And the teacups were so exotic and unique... I loved them almost as much as I loved the ginger tea! The treatment rooms were amazing. You had a little room to change separate from your partner (we were having a couples massages) and also a private and separate chill out area for your post massage relax My huband and I both chose a Thai herbal massage which is a full body massage using warm poultices which contain plai, ginger, turmeric and lemongrass. These are applied to specific pressure points, using gentle and rolling movements, to condition skin and induce a sense of well-being
