On the second leg of our Thailand trip after Bangkok, we travelled to Chang Mai in the north of Thailand. Chang Mai is nestled among forested foothills and instantly feels much quieter and laid back than bustling Bangkok. For me, it felt very exotic and cultural. Chang Mai has so many beautiful, historic temples to explore (once we had rested up) we couldn't wait to experience them. But first, we had to explore our new home home... Four Seasons Chiang Mai. Having staying with the four seasons resort previously, and knowing the level of service and experience the brand offers (trust me when I tell you its just out of the world) when my husband told me we would be staying at the resort I was so excited and naturally had high expectations! I really did not expect to have them exceeded, but I did... we both did. The resort is BEAUTIFUL! Its just so vast, interesting, and manages to be so authentic and natural but still utterly luxurious When I was presented with a bouquet of Orchids upon arrival I knew we were staying somewhere special We were both truly overwhelmed by the beauty of the resort During the day, you can watch the farmer planting rice in the rice paddies... you can even join in if you like! These beautiful floral art works are crafted each morning by hand and every day they managed to make me stop to appreciate their beauty Just when we thought it couldn't get any more impressive... we were shown to our Villa. How dreamy... I had to pinch myself You know it didn't take long to open that wine and jump in the pool! Can you blame me... But not before documenting every last detail! Because for me, its the detail that I love. Its the difference between, good and excellent. Its what sets greatness apart. See what I mean about those details... After an obligatory dip in our pool, We checked out the ratree bar (named after a variety of jasmine) to get our cocktail on. According to the resort staff, the resident mixologist is something of a genius having previously been at the four seasons Singapore. Like we needed convincing... We sat with our cocktails at sun downers taking in the views. At the end of each working day, the traditional workers join in the rice fields and sing a song to signal the end of their working day... I literally had goosebumps After an incredible day, we wandered back to the Villa for a lazy evening of room service.
