As the end of summer rolls in, I wanted to celebrate the last of the long balmy nights with something we cant really do as the nights draw in ... So a Barbecue it was. Don't get me wrong, its not like we have winters here in southern Spain like we did in the UK, but the temperature does drop and we have less daylight hours.
In the summer spirit, I wanted to make things as colourful and seasonal as possible. So I decide to take inspiration from one of my favourite restaurants in LA, The lvy.
Ever since we visited the restaurant on the third leg of our honeymoon, I’v been obsessed with the styling and decor.
Using my favorite Ecuador roses in Twilight, Topaz, Vendela and stardust I made arrangements in large jugs, coffee pots and colored glasses and they were so easy to make
As it was a BBQ and and not aformal dinner, I had to reign myself in and keep it simple... but will admit it was a hard thing to do as i'm definitely a more is more kind of gal
The little tealights are just empty yogurt pots! A great way to recycle and save money
The great thing about hosting a get together are the super cute hostess gifts people bring and my lovely friend Anna brought us some Champagne, Macrons and the most delicious and beautiful raspberry tart. Its lovely to have friends who know you so well
I stocked the bar with Pimm's (always great for a BBQ) , and ingredients for aromatic G&Ts (Recipe coming soon)
Its beautiful when the party goes from day to night and the lighting changes, allowing all of your twinkling candles and tea lights to do their thing
What are our favourite BBQ styling tips? Id love to hear all about them
