We chose to stay at Hotel Sacher Salzburg after staying in the Vienna Sacher a couple of years previously and absolutely loving the experience. If you haven't heard of the hotel than surly you'v heard of its very famous and even more delicious cake. My husband and I are crazy about it and always buy a box to take home with us to share with friends (or not) The hotel was built in the 1800's and although currently undergoing renovation it still manages to be everything a Sacher hotel should be. In the best location in the city overlooking the Salzach River its a stones throw from the footbridge to the Old Town. My Favorite thing about staying at Sacher hotels is that your just minutes away from the in house cafe and its famous sacher torte. I wasn't even a fan of Chocolate cake until I tried sacher cake. I'm told that its spread with apricot jam, which is what gives it the unique flavor. It was just about this time that my DSLR decided to completely steam up on me due to the on pour of rain and humidity. Luckily some of the images were usable, and even a little atmospheric in the end Served with a dollop of Fresh cream and a cup of hot tea or coffee it is what dreams are made of. Have you ever tried Sacher chocolate Torte?
