Before I start, id like to say to fully disclose that my husband and I are totally crazy about Christmas. We like to go ALL out. To some it may seem excessive, to others not nearly excessive enough... but ultimately we really enjoy all of the Christmas traditions, decorating and the celebrations that comes with the festive season. So with all of that said, i'll show you how I decorate our home for the festive season.
I'm going to separate the posts into sections across the week, so I don't bombard you all with too many images in one go.
The Trees
We typically have 3 main real trees, 3 smaller and 2 faux. The biggest and most traditional one goes in the salon. Its usually about 14ft high and I like this to look as traditional as possible. I go for red and white decorations and tie in the fireplace and room decorations with the same colour theme. I like to have mostly uniform baubles in different textures (like these red glittery ones and these white shiny ones from Maison du mode) with some more unique ornaments that have meaning in with my tree decorations...for example I am a massive cola addict so of course there is a red sparkly can on my main tree. I also have this super cute red and white mushroom snowglobe which is a real favourite If you read my blog frequently, you'll know i'm obsessed with flowers so I love to have them all around the house. For Christmas, I do try and make them festive and stick to Red, White, Pink and also use lots of greens.
I use lots of fresh foliage such as Eucalyptus, boxwood and Christmas tree branches to make garlands around the fireplaces which is really something I enjoy as you never really know how its going to turn out until its completed which is half the fun.
I than add in all of the Nutcracker dolls iv collected over the years, the most recent addition being this Nutcracker mouse king who has fast become my absolute favourite because he is so Extra
For the dining area, last year I hand foliage the chandelier which is something I wanted to do since we moved here. It was a lot of work, but I was so pleased with how it turned out. I added hanging glass balls which I changed the theme of depending on the event or the time of month it was. For Christmas day I added fresh white roses to the chandelier to make it extra special for Christmas day
I'm a huge Fortnum and Mason fan so last year we added a little Fortnum themed tree to accommodate my growing collection of F&M Christmas decorations. Aren't they the cutest?
Iv linked some of my faves below Hot air balloon here, Hamper here, Cake stand here, Tea tray here and teapot here. My advise is get in quick as they always sell out super fast
