Yes, you did read the title correctly! I decorate our bedroom for Christmas every year! The way I see it, the more magic the better!
So I thought I'd share with you some tips on how I create this festive vibe. There is something about a cozy, twinkling, warm, and magical bedroom around the festive period that I absolutely love and hope you will too.
The tree
If you have space for a tree in your bedroom then why not just go for it! It doesn't necessarily have to be a big tree, a little one can be super cute too and helps to bring a little magic to a room you probably spend quite some time in. I have really had some fun with this room at Christmas time over the years! Until a couple of years ago, I used to dress the bedroom tree in White & gold until we decided that the pink tree was so precious and personal to us we didn't want to share it!
Garland
I have to be completely honest here... I can't walk past a fireplace in our villa without dreaming of the magic I can create on it. Why waste the opportunity to make something fabulous. The bedroom should be no exception. Last year I half dressed the fireplace in fresh eucalyptus, ferns, and boxwood. For the final touches, I used fresh pink roses and some pink pussy willows. I then tied the look together with some pink nutcrackers and fairy lights.
Bedding
Every Christmas we have new sheets for our bed. It's a little bit of tradition we indulge in that really helps to create the most sumptuous & luxurious hotel vibe in our room. If you can't spoil yourself at Christmas then when can you. I actually used to work very closely in the bedroom furniture industry and the importance of the right bed, mattress, and bedding is definitely not lost on me. Fabulous high-quality Egyptian cotton bedding is so worth the money. It's one of the best investments I have made in our bedroom. And again, to create the girly pink nutcracker boudoir vibe I chose lots of pink silk and linen bedding accessories to finish the look. Luckily for me, my husband is a massive fan of all things pink!
Fragrance
Room fragrance is a hugely important feature of any room, but especially important in the bedroom and indeed at Christmas time. Although Jo Malone peony and blush suede is not technically a Christmas fragrance (I do absolutely love Pomegranate noir and roasted chestnut in our living room) To me, it is very much an evocative fragrance, evoking memories of the happiest times.
Ornaments
The pink Christmas tree is full of incredibly special and in many cases ridiculously expensive ornaments that we have amassed over the past 10 years. They are either incredibly beautiful, from a faraway country, or have a symbolic meaning to me. I feel like I have found the most incredible treasures that I'll keep forever
I hope this post inspired you to go all out this Christmas! I'd love to know if it did!
