The Hub's and I have developed quite the penchant for sniffing out local markets when we travel. There is something about the individuality and uniqueness of them that we have become quite enamoured with.
With a Sunday to spare in Berlin, we sought out the city's best offerings.
We found a couple on this fantastic website which listed more markets that we could ever achieve in a day!
Of course my favourite type of market is a flower market, followed closely by a flee market or an antique market. Not to dis include a good old food market. These are truly one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the local culture of whatever city you are in as they are unapologetic authentic and unique to the area.
The only downside to flower markets is that I obviously want to buy everything, which I can't unless im in the country for a good enough amount of time for it to not be wasteful. Most of the time im just grateful to be an observer for the day!
I won't lie though, it was particularly hard to tear myself away from these spring beauty's.
We love to stroll about and try some local food and artisan coffee, It the best way to spend a Sunday morning.
Next up was Markthalle Neun. An indoor market which really reminded me of Altrincham market in the UK.
This market was particularly welcome as it was freezing outside. It also had some of the best food stall's I have seen anywhere, so if you do visit make sure you go hungry!
We finished our afternoon at kaffee 9, a lovely coffee shop just outside the indoor market, which had the most delicious coffee. Just the thing to recover from a busy Sunday shopping!

German markets are the best, especially at Christmas time when its cold and you can drink mulled wine and eat roast chestnuts. I havent been to the Berlin ones yet though

That Berlins Market sounds so much fun to visit. I love supporting local and small business like that. I hope I was there too, to buy beautiful blooming flowers.
