El hombre and I are total foodies, and are always looking for new places to try. Barcelona, has become somewhere that we've had some of our most incredible and interesting food experiences in. It seems to me that its a city totally on its gastronomic game right now.
Last year we had the most incredible experience at Moments, Mandarin Oriental. This year one of the new restaurants we tried was Lasarte

So far its been our experience that Spanish fine dining is manages to get the balance between elegance, refinement and guest comfortably perfectly right. Some Michelin star restaurants can be incredibly intimidating. But not Lasarte. You feel fabulously taken care of but also at ease enough to really enjoy the experience. Quite a rarity in a 3 Michelin star restaurant (Barcelona's 1st, I might add)
Each dish was not only absolutely beautiful, but beautifully presented. Even my cocktail was handcrafted right at our table creating quite the spectacle.
We started with Jalapeno foam with razor and liquorice Ice cream appetiser
For starter I chose the glazed hare ravioli with artichokes and black truffle. Simply put, incredible.
I think my favourite dish was the Smoked squid ink risotto and lemon seafood. It was absolutely incredible and surprisingly light
And if you are a truffle lover, than the White truffle curd cream, pear and hazelnut is your absolute dream come true. Probably one of the most unique deserts that Iv ever eaten...
And to finish, we were served the most beautiful petite fours. So beautiful hat we managed to squeeze them in! Mont Blanc, Catalan crem choclate and choclate crumble.
And just when I thought our experience couldn't get any better, we were invited to meet the chef and see the magic behind the scenes. Just the best experience ever!
I absolutely enjoyed our afternoon at Lasarte, and am sure you would too! Add it to your list pronto...
