We set off from Lisbon for a few days in Sintra, which is around an hours drive away. When we researching our road trip, Sintra popped up and I knew instantly that I would love it. It is the most beautiful magical place and such a contrast to Lisbon We drove to the hotel first, Tivoli Palacio de seteanis Sintra Hotel The hubb's had kept me completely in the dark about this hotel, but he said as soon as he saw it he knew id fall in love with it and wanted to surprise me So arriving at this beautiful stately home with no expectations completely took my breath away. It is incredible. And not only is it incredible, but the service and attention to detail was absolutely second to none. Not a hair out of place as they say Floral arrangement upon floral arrangement adorns the beautiful, grand and often whimsical rooms. The interiors of the hotel are in complete cohesion with Sintra itself, as its such a magical, mystical place. The most beautiful orchids in ornate pots are everywhere. Glimmering chandeliers adorn the ceilings and beautiful antique furniture is in every room Despite its size and grandeur, we felt like we the only people there. It manages to be immense yet intimate at the same time. You feel like you were meant to be here, at least we did- so much so that we didn't want to leave I Completely fell in love with this room. It was so enchanting with its delicate, whimsical pastel tones and the hand painted walls We were no less delighted when we arrived at our suite. This is not one of those all foyer and no bedroom type hotels (don't you just hate that?) It was sumptuous, luxurious and every little detail was taken care of. We even had fresh fluffy white hydrangeas in our room. That was the deal sealer for me With views of the fairytale Palácio da Pena, I almost pinched myself. Just how romantic After checking in and freshening up we headed down to dinner and more importantly to check out the bar. Which, just like the rest of the hotel was super cute and incredibly detailed. After an aperitif or two, we noticed the sun was setting behind the picturesque Sintra mountains in the most spectacular fashion. It literally looked like the sky has caught fire. A sunset, especially one as spectacular as this one is one of nature’s greatest shows so we never miss an opportunity to watch one. And there really are no excuses to miss one while your on vacation. To complete an already perfect day, we enjoyed a beautiful and decadent dinner at the hotels restaurant, Seteais. I Literally can not recommend Sintra and specifically the Tivoli Palacio de Seteais enough. Not just because of its obvious beauty, but because the service we received was flawless and we felt like we were whisked away into a perfect, romantic bubble for the duration of our stay. Just lovely
