This weekend my husband and I celebrate our 5 and 15!
15 years of being together, and 5 years of marriage. So I thought it was about time I shared some of our wedding photos right?
If you have followed me for a while, you'll know I'm fanatical about 2 things... Jo Malone and flowers. As I absolutely love peonies, and my favourite scent in the world is Jo Malone peony and blush suede I figured, why not combine the 2 and share with some of my favourite people for an evening of candlelight and cocktails. I managed to capture a few images to share with you too before retiring the camera for the rest of the evening.
As it was also the last week for peony's, it was even more reason to go out with a bang.
So if you saw my previous Easter tablescape post, here is how I switched it up for some of our other visitors over the Easter weekend... cause life's to short to do the same table twice right?
Using the same floral arrangement's, and many of the same accessories and tableware. But I switched in a different table cloth and now we have a very different feel all together. I changed the location from the front patio of the house, to the back terrace for a more intimate feel.
And instead of using my pink occasional cushions, iv accessorised with green/ blue cushions.
I hope this gives you some ideas for Easter entertaining and also for how to mix it up without too much hassle if you are entertaining multiple party's
Wishing you all a fabulous Easter Belle Xx More Easter Inspiration here and here
We celebrated Easter Sunday last year with an alfresco dinner in the Garden. The weather was so lovely despite Easter being 2 week earlier than usual, so we decided to make the most of it and enjoy our outdoor areas
If you have read my blog for a while, you'll know I love celebrating Easter, and last year was no exception. I like to decorate the house and create a beautiful tablescape for the celebrations. Its just so much fun and seeing a creative vision come to life gives me so much pleasure.
I set the table up at the front of the house which is actually my favourite area to entertain guests. When dinner is finished we can retire to the back terrace and enjoy totally new views of the house.
Surprise, surprise I went for a pink theme once again... I literally can't help myself, but it is my favourite colour. However, I do think it looks different to last years table, which is all that matters right?
I lined Square pink vases down the centre of the table and Filled them with various shades of white and Pink roses and Ranunculas (one of my favourite flowers). I also used a rose pink table cloth to make the look extra pretty and feminine. I wanted to grey shutters to add a contract to the pink, so I accentuated with a lilac/ grey colour plate.
Is there anything more enchanting than candles flickering in the warm evening as the sun comes down?
I hope my post gives you some Easter inspiration this year!
Belle Xx I have so much fun dressing our entry way at Christmas that I thought why not do a spring version for the hallway! Its lots of work, but anything worth doing is right? I wanted to do something in spring pastels with a pop of color. Almost a little natural... as if you had stepped into a super floral pretty meadow I ordered in roses in shades of various shades of pink and white, along with tulips in shades of lilac and white. Snapdragons and wax flower in pink and green chrysanthemums helped to create the look I was after. I start by soaking the floral foam blocks in water for around 4 hours. Be careful not to press the foam down into the water as its soaking and little drink at its own pace- otherwise it will create air pockets and wot do its job properly. I then lay the foam on plastic trays which I then encase in chicken wire to strengthen the unit (very important of you'll be using lots of flowers and foliage) You can secure these with cable ties I than start to add in the fresh floral. Its a good idea to have a shape and a general look in mind before you start, however I find that its also nice to see where the natural shape is taking you. I like to start from the outside and work inwards, and don't be afraid to move flowers if they don't look right. I flanked either side with some bunny decorations I found in John Lewis a few years ago, and placed some pink and gold lanterns in the center.
During our trip to Paris, My husband surprised me with a birthday breakfast on the balcony of our hotel- Hotel west end which I might add was very cute, in a fabulous location and excellent staff. And If all of that wasn't enough, it has view of the Eifel tower!
He set up fresh croissants, coffee and orange juice along with fresh macrons from my favourite Laduree. How cute is he?
What a fabulous surprise to start the day with!
He also gave me one of my birthday presents early. We had been "window shopping" the day before when I spotted the cutest Chanel wallet on a chain in the most unusual shade of baby blue. When the sales associate told me it was in fact called Tiffany blue I nearly died.
But instead of opening, I chose to pleasure delay and wait until my actual birthday to open it... but don't worry, I will show it to you!
Really, what more could a birthday girl want! Roses, the Eiffel tower, love heart macrons and Chanel. I am a very lucky girl
It was actual love at first site when I first laid eyes on this, and as the majority of my handbags are pink, nude or black its something a little different to the rest of my collection.
After the loveliest breakfast, we headed to 4th arrondisment- Le marais neighbourhood of Paris which is super cute and full of life and interest.
Its a neighbourhood that's best enjoyed on foot or by bicycle, meandering through the many streets that are lined with small boutiques and cafes â
After coffee at Au rocher de cancale (a total must, and is totally Instagram worthy painted in the most beautiful blue) we strolled through the neighbourhood, stopping at the little vintage boutiques and taking in the sites ...it used to be occupied by aristocrats!
You can check out the highlights from this trip on my Instagram HERE
I promise you, you will not be disappointed with a visit to Le Marais! If you haven't been make sure you add it to your Parisian wish list Belle Xx When it comes to organising parties, it can be quite stressful. Which is my more people are opting to have close knit gatherings of their closest friends at home instead.
Celebrating your birthday can often be one of the things that you look forward to in the year. It is the one day that you can demand that it is all about you, how great is that? However, not many people throw parties these days unless it is a milestone birthday, and there is something wrong with that. Who says you can’t have a party and celebrate in style? With that in mind, here are some of the ways that you can throw the ultimate birthday party, either for yourself, a friend or a loved one. Think about the theme
Birthday parties can be as flamboyant or as low key as you want them to be, and whatever way you want to go, having a theme can help create the perfect set up. Your theme could be color focused, or it could be something a little unique or different. Perhaps sourcing films as inspiration, songs or decades, for example. There are so many ways that you can enhance a birthday party, that you will can go all out, even if you are celebrating at home or in a specific location. Add a touch of fun Some people assume that a party is just a party with food, drink and a lovely mix of people, but you can also add different elements to it as well. People nowadays consider entertainment as a big party of party planning. One popular choice is a photo booth, and you can be a little more creative by choose a specific backdrop from companies like The Backdrop Lab. This could help you choose something that goes with your theme. Other things to consider might be a DJ or even a band or singer, a magician, or if children are attending someone to help keep them occupied so they adults can let their hair down a little. Parties are about food and drink There is no denying that a big focus surrounding parties is the food and drink element, and you can be a simple or as over the top as you want to be for a Birthday. Maybe you want a signature drink that is associated with the birthday celebrator, so that everyone receives a drink upon arrival. Maybe the food can work alongside the theme. The last thing you want is to not have enough food or drink for your guests, so make sure you plan ahead. Consider the guest list Who attends the party is a very important aspect, after all, you want the right mix of people, the right amount of people, and you also want people to enjoy themselves and have fun. This is why it is important to consider who you invite and who you don’t. Plan early Finally, make sure you plan early for parties. Getting the invitations out sooner rather than later so you can work out numbers, and then also enable you to plan and book certain aspects of it before missing out. Parties can also have a financial aspect so you need to give yourself enough time to budget and save for it. Let’s hope doing these things helps you to celebrate a birthday in style in the future.
For last years Christmas tablescape I really tried to challenge myself not to use pink. Pink is my absolute all time favorite color and I naturally just reach for it no matter what i'm doing.
That said, I also really like to change things up and make things look completely different. After all life is too short to do the same tablescape twice! |
