Dinner at the rice barn

One evening during our trip to Chiang Mai, My husband told me to put on my best dress and be ready at 7pm... We were dining somewhere special!

We strolled through the rice fields at dusk until we arrived at a candle lit walk way to the private reserve rice barn 

Lanterns and rose petals guided the way...  

I can't tell you how overwhelmed I was by such a lovely surprise... and how utterly beautiful it all was!

He had worked with the chef to plan the perfect dinner in the middle of the rice fields, selecting my favourite Thai foods with wine paring

He had arranged for a bouquet of my favourite flowers...the most romantic thing ever!

We sat with a glass of champagne, looking out over the rice fields as the night drew and the view became a sea of flickering candlelight. I could have died it was so beautiful.

Our private waiter sonny, was the loveliest. We listened to a private mandolin player, which was truly magical

Every course was served so creatively... almost to pretty to eat

And you know I'm all about that mango sticky rice

Sonny blessed us with a tradition Thai floating candle ceremony to bless our Marriage. We lit the candle and let it float away on the lake. Such a beautiful moment

When we were ready to leave , the hotel had arranged a buggy come to take us back to ur villa...  probably the best idea of all the wine paring

And when I saw they had decorated the whole cart with fresh orchids and balloons I was blown away... cutest thing ever. In fact, this experience was up there with our engagement, wedding and honeymoon

And this was before I saw what he had arranged for the room. OMG

There were flowers, rose petals and fresh orchids EVERYWHERE

And to my utter amazement they had manage to print and frame a copy of a photo they had taken of us... again with the details!
Totally up there in the amazing moments of life
