So, its fair to say I love to shop... who doesn’t? But there is something about the hustle and bustle of the djemaa el fna square and the exotic souk that was giving me even more than my usual shopping buzz. Its the real life Aladdin's cave. Full of treasures, herbs and spices... the biggest selection of rugs iv ever seen. I recommend bringing your imagination. I cant tell you how many things I wish I had purchased, because I hadn't explored the possibility's whilst I was there. Now im home, I find I actually do need everything I saw. Good thing its not too far away and I could even drive there (extra room for all that shopping) Its amazing how much inspiration from fashion and interiors has come from Marrakesh. And it does not surprise me at all. Its such a vibrant and visually inspiring place. I often leave a city or destination, wanting too add flavours to my home and this place was no exception. I can only imagine what our home will look like in 10 years time (home is currently a Spanish farmhouse, with french Provencal styling with a tip of the cap to Italy) At Souk Cherifa, a market within a market, you can pick up Berber-style beanies, personalised straw hats and printed purses that wouldn’t look out of place in a Paris nightclub. This Rose bud tea just looks so incredible that I had to buy some to add to my tea collection. As you know, i'm a sucker for anything pink and flowery. I actually used these buds in my rose and Lavender bath salts And the donkeys in the Medina are the most stylish iv ever seen!!! Before visiting the Medina, one of the items on my shopping list was Savon Noir. Im told Beldi Black soap is an essential part of the traditional Moroccan spa treatment (Hammam). With the texture of butter, this soap is made from black olive pulp and is rich in vitamin E. It prepares the skin for exfoliation. When combined with the action of the Kessa Hammam glove it removes impurities and dead skin. This soap does not lather like typical soap but instead become creamy After seeing all of the unique ways to display these colourful and interesting spices, I'm so re styling my pantry...
